KOMPAKT1-3
KOMPAKT 1-3 is a multi-purpose control system designed to control machines, to provide regulation and control in the areas of heating technology, air-conditioning, etc.
The KOMPAKT 1-3 control systems is based on the TERM10B industrial terminal using the KITV40 (KIT386EX) microcomputer complemented with the IOTERM10 board (digital and analogue inputs/outputs) and/or with the PDIO40 board (digital inputs/outputs).
For display, the terminal uses the 5,5" LCD graphic display using the 240 x 128 point resolution, illuminated with a vacuum tube. You have 4 grades to specify the brightness. The contrast is temperature-compensated and you can specify it using 16 grades. The control system uses a membrane keyboard. Apart from alphanumeric and function keys it contains 6 LED diode signalling fields with user-defined labels. KOMPAKT 1-3 is also equipped with audio control signalling.
KOMPAKT 1-3 contains maximum 40 digital galvanic-insulated inputs (with optrons) and 32 digital galvanic-insulated outputs (partly with optrons, partly with relay, or with optorelay on special demand), maximum 16 analogue inputs and maximum 6 analogue outputs.
KOMPAKT 1-3 is controlled by the KITV40 (KIT386EX) industrial control unit. It is furnished with one (KITV40) or two (KIT386EX) RS232 serial communication lines (one of them is convertible to the galvanic-insulated RS485). KOMPAKT 1-3 can also be equipped with RS485, the other galvanic-insulated communication line.
Any signals (apart from RS232 communication lines) lead to ordinary Entrelec connectors with the 5.08mm span. KOMPAKT 1-3 is designed to be built in control panels, doors of distribution boards, etc. KOMPAKT 1-3 power supply can be provided from a DC source (the connection polarity is of no importance) using 12-35 V voltage, or from a AC source using voltage of 15 to 26 VAC.
For more details on the IOTERM10 and PDIO40 boards and a detailed description of input and output parameters, see separate catalogue sheets 3.16 (IOTERM10) and 5.5 (PDIO40).

Programming
To program SofCon control systems, you can use the two following platforms.
The first platform is Borland Pascal Development Environment / ReTOS o.s. This environment allows you to fully utilize all SW and HW features and to program all types of control tasks that require very fast responses. To achieve this, write the application directly in the Borland Pascal programming language and use a large number of the SofCon libraries. This platform requires professional programming skills
The other platform is KIT-Builder Development environment. This environment provides easy programming of simple control tasks that do not require very fast responses. You write your application in the KIT-Basic language that is partly compiled and partly interpreted while the program is running. This platform does not require professional programming skills. You can use the graphic support to design terminal screens.
Conclusion
The KOMPAKT 1-3 control system can be used in a wide range of industrial applications, specifically in measuring and regulating temperatures, pressures and other analogue quantities. For its compact qualities, the KOMPAKT 1-3 control system has quickly found its customers who prefer this system to the TERM10B customer configuration.
